Silver Plating is an electrolytic electroplating surface finishing process for CNC‑machined conductive parts. Metallic silver is deposited onto component surfaces from silver‑based electrolyte solution under electric current. Base materials like aluminum and steel require intermediate undercoat layers (nickel or copper) to guarantee coating adhesion and prevent silver diffusion. After electroplating, anti‑tarnish passivation sealant is strongly recommended to resist silver sulfide tarnish and blackening. Silver plating is primarily a functional finish valued for exceptional electrical & thermal performance, widely used for RF connectors, electrical contacts, bus bars and aerospace electronic hardware. It is not designed for heavy mechanical abrasive wear.
