What is Brushed?

Brushed is a mechanical surface finishing process for CNC‑machined metal parts. Abrasive belts or abrasive brushes create consistent fine directional linear grain patterns on workpiece surface by mechanical scrubbing. Brushing removes tool marks, burrs and minor surface defects. It only modifies surface texture without changing material chemical composition or raising base material hardness. Brushed finish itself provides no corrosion resistance, protective anodizing or clear seal coating is required for anti‑corrosion performance.
